Grants to relieve hardship

Grants - Relieve hardship

The Bengough, Vachers, Duchess of Somerset and Dickinson funds are aimed at helping women and men in the London Borough of the City of Westminster and in exceptional circumstances those living in the neighbouring boroughs. These grants are given in the form of small one off awards of up to £500 to individuals who are low incomes and require white goods and other basic items to set up new tenancies. Applications should be forwarded by referring agencies rather than individuals. Contact the Clerk (clerk@westminsteralmshouses.com) for an application form. Decisions are usually made within 10 working days.

Applications from organisations for larger grants of up to £30,000 will also be considered if the purpose of the grant is to break down social isolation in Westminster. We do not fund projects where the organisations in questions have significant financial reserves. Applications are made by contacting the Clerk initially (clerk@westminsteralmshouses.com). Large grants to organisations are considered by the Grants Committee, which meets 4 times a year, in January, April, July, and October.
